Earwax Removal – We’re Here to Help

If you have blocked ears you’re not alone NICE (National Institute for Health and Care) estimates that 2.3 million people per year need medical help for earwax blockages. Blocked ears tend to affect users of headphones and hearing aids but we sell a range of wax guards to stop earwax from hindering your devices.

A build-up of wax can really affect the quality of your hearing and cause additional problems if it is not treated correctly.

You can order Cerustops Wax Guards from us today.

Last week Graham Jones from Norfolk made the local news because he threatened to sue his GP if he had a car accident caused by his blocked ears. He blamed the ’10 week waiting list’ for his plight. If Graham lived in Birmingham he could have avoided the wait by booking an appointment with Veritas Hearing.

What is Cerumen?

Cerumen (Earwax) protects the skin of your ear canal, it traps dirt and slows down the production of bacteria whilst lubricating your ear canal. It consists of hair, dead skin cells, dust and secretions of the sebaceous and eruminous glands. The color and consistency vary. The”ATP-binding cassette C11 gene” determines whether you have wet or dry ear wax.

Why does an Earwax blockage occur?

A blockage happens when there is excessive wax in your ear/s. Earwax usually travels to the opening of the ear, you either wash it away or it falls out naturally and more wax is secreted. If you produce lots of wax and it’s not cleared properly then it can accumulate and block the ear canal.

You can also cause a build-up by using implements like cotton buds because they can push wax into your ear instead of clearing it.
